Today we're going to look at how to perform an effective and deep, 2 step cleanse.
Although you probably clean your skin at least once a day as part of your daily skincare routine, performing a deeper clean once a week is an incredibly helpful way to aid your skin in getting rid of any build up of excess dead skin cells, oil and dirt.
It also helps to open up your pores and can help prevent acne or other similar skin conditions. Here at Rawgaia we stock a range of gorgeous raw, organic cleansers including our popular MSM Organic Beauty Cleansing Serum, our Organic Goji Goddess Superfood Cleanser and our Hemp Glow Cleanser.
Our Goji Goddess cleanser is great for normal skin, our Hemp Glow is suited to oily and teen skin and our MSM Beauty cleanser is often preferred by those with dry skin.
We've tried hard to create a range of diverse products so that there is something suited to all different skin types.
Once you've chosen which cleanser is best for you, the first step of this deep cleanse is to apply the cleanser onto a dry or damp cotton wool pad and wipe it over your face and neck.
This first application will help your pores to open up and for the initial layer of excess dead skin cells to loosen.
It will also allow your skin to absorb some moisture and start to dislodge any stubborn dirt, deep in your epidermis.
The second step is to then apply the cleanser onto your hand and massage into your face and neck. For best results, massage against gravity, in an anti-clockwise direction.
Make sure you use firm massage techniques to help extract the deep dirt. Once you have spent a few minutes massaging, leave it for up to 10 minutes (perhaps whilst you brush your teeth!) This waiting time will allow the cleanser to work to the best of it's ability and to remove the absolute maximum amount of dirt, excess oil and dead skin cells possible.
Once this 10 minute period is over, rinse your face gently with warm water and pat it dry.
Then, just before you relax and go to bed with a good book or cup of herbal tea, don't forget to use a toner to restore your skin to it's natural pH and finally, a gentle raw, organic, superfood moisturiser to help your skin absorb any moisture needed that might have been lost during the cleansing process.
If you regularly perform this two-step deep cleanse once or twice a week, it won't be long before you see the benefits!
Your skin will be less prone to becoming dull and dry, you should find it less irritable and flaky and should experience less acne (if you're prone to it).
Regular deep cleanses are essential in the pursuit of skin that is glowing, gorgeous and healthy!
