SUMMER FESTIVAL ESSENTIALS GUIDE

Posted on July 10, 2017 by Jessica Michael | 0 comments

Festival season is upon us again and whilst heading to festivals like Glastonbury, Green Gathering or Bestival, from personal experience I always think it's such a nice feeling not to look quite like I've just spent the night in a muddy field with very little sleep (although of course that will probably have be the case!)

Unlike our guide to looking after you skin whilst on holiday, getting enough sleep and decent nutrition may also not be quite as easy to achieve, whilst rocking out to your favourite bands in a field at 2am.

That's why we've pulled together our must have guide of tried and tested essential festival skincare survival kit!

These raw, organic superfood skincare products have been tried and tested many times, including recently at Glastonbury 2017 by the Rawgaia team!

Organic Shea Butter

Shea butter is an absolutely incredible multi-purpose moisturiser and if you don't want to take a full size jar around with you, you can decant it into a smaller plastic pot to slip into your bag and use as and when you need it. Many festivals don't allow glass into the main arenas, so this is the ideal way of bringing it into a festival.

Feeling dehydrated with dry lips from not enough water and a lot of exposure? Use it to moisten your lips.

Suffering from sore feet after a day spent trudging around festival sites and not sitting down? Get a mate to give you a quick foot rub and use it to soothe your aching feet.

Hands feeling dry from too much alcohol-based cleansing gel in long drops and portaloos? Use it as a generic hand cream to rid yourself of the horrible feeling of chapped hands.

Organic Aloe Gel

Obviously if you are blessed with some sunshine whilst at a festival, we would recommend covering up in the hottest hours of the day, using sun cream and wearing a hat.

However, here at Rawgaia we have been to enough festivals to know that it doesn't always work out like that. The Great British weather often lulls us into a false sense of security by starting the day with torrential rain before transforming into dazzling, baking sunshine just a few hours later.

If you get caught out and do get sunburnt, our Organic Aloe Gel with added seaweed extract is your best friend in soothing your hot, burnt skin.

Aloe has a long history of being used as a herbal remedy for sunburn and is the most natural way of providing cool relief for sunburn as it contains no added nasties like a lot of branded 'aftersun' lotions.

Organic Goji Goddess Nutrient Mist

Regardless of the weather, if you're spending time in crowds of people, dancing and constantly on the move, it is easy to feel sticky and just a little sweaty whilst you wile away your festival days.

Luckily, we have just the thing to alleviate this unpleasant feeling! Our Organic Goji Goddess Nutrient Mist is a cooling face and body spray that comes in a conveniently sized bottle to go in your day bag and provides an instant source of refreshment for your clammy skin. It also has the added bonus of smelling divine!

MSM Organic Beauty Cream

Hopefully by the end of most evenings you'll still be in a place where you can remember to perform a nourishing nightly ritual with your favourite Rawgaia collection. As well as brushing your teeth, taking off your earrings etc...

Applying a little nourishing moisturiser to rehydrate your skin after a busy day out and about like our popular MSM Organic Beauty Cream is highly recommended at festivals. Our raw, organic moisturisers are extremely high in anti-oxidants and is set in delicious cacao butter, leaving your skin supple and glowing...ready for the next day of music and fun!

So whichever festival you're heading to this summer, make sure that along with your fancy dress, sleeping bag and tent, you also pack just a few essential items to keep your skin healthy and happy whilst you're busy checking out the latest bands and workshops, dancing through the night and having a most fabulous time with friends!
